VetGovPartner

A networking platform connecting small business owners with Government resources.

For the 3rd iteration of VetGovPartner.org, the US. Department of Veteran Affairs wanted a way for attendees of their annual National Veterans Small Business Conference to more easily connect with other attendees. With Halfaker & Associates, we provided this ability through an "Agenda Builder" tool that allowed attendees to create their own conference schedule, check-in to sessions, and see who else is in attendance.

Team Interval

The private communication platform dedicated to athletic organizations.

Produced with the team at One Design, Team Interval looks to address a number of challenges that athletic organizations face and provide a platform that assists teams to achieve sporting excellence. The customizable platform encourages athlete responsibility through a private communication network and peer review without sharing access to those outside of the the team's network.

Indv.

The quarterly publication with emphasis on collectibility and the quality of keepsake.

When the majority of publications turn digital, the printed book becomes collectible. This was the idea behind Indv. With the increased acceptance of digital publishing the printed page is being left behind. But what if the future of print lies in the past? Influenced by DIY 'zine culture but produced by trained designers and experienced printers, Indv. had the goal of making printed books items of keepsake.

The project was an experiment with Kickstarter and production. Each issue was to feature a singular artist and be produced in a manner comparable to the work. Even thought the goal wasn't reached to bring the project to life, displayed below is Issue0 that showcases who would have been featured in vol. 1. that was to be sent to Kickstarter supporters.

tradeMONSTER

The mobile financial management tool to complement tradeMONSTER's award winning trading platform.

tradeMonster wanted a financial management mobile tool so their customers could manage their accounts on the go .

Doing so was no small task. Working with the team at [X]cube Labs, this app was built with a combination of modern web standards and native development to manage the amount of data that is available to a user. Addressing the challenges with this approach enabled tradeMonster's mobile tool to be every bit the trading experience that their customers expected and are already familiar with.

Viewport

The most flexible and customizable portfolio displaying framework available for iPad.

When the iPad was first released the potential was huge. You could now keep books, newspapers, and the internet with you in a format that was made for reading. For a designer the potential to have a portfolio of work with them meant no more days of carrying around an oversized folder, or box of past work.

Based on the advancements of HTML5 and CSS3 I produced a framework that allowed users to customize the display of their portfolio and keep the contents on the device so that an internet connection wasn't needed to view it.

With students and emerging creatives in mind I wanted to produce a customizable tool that allowed the users to create the presentation that they needed for their work, not the one I wanted for them.

During my time running gruntmonkey I've had the opportunity to create a number of products. From screen printing posters, creating skate decks for charity auctions, and protective cases for smart phones, tablets and laptops, creating products has provided a way to explore an idea and have something tangible to hold onto at the end of the process.
